Pattaya Beaches and Pattaya Locations

Pattaya has an abundance of clean, sandy beaches. These are ideal places for simply relaxing on a deckchair or swimming. However each also has its own unique flavour and appeal.

The half-moon-shaped Pattaya Beach is about 4 kilometres long with a road running parallel to the beach. From mid-section to the southern end of the Pattaya area there are is a vast array of restaurants, bars, department stores, as well as other places of entertainment. To the north of Pattaya beach there are various mini-resorts and hotels in a more quiet atmosphere.

Pattaya beach incredibly famous and enduringly popular stretch is a whole different story, a cosmopolitan seafront in which it’s possible to enjoy all of the above, plus pretty much more modern conveniences.  If it’s world class shopping, restaurants, clubs, bars and hotels in addition to sun, sand and sea.

Jomtien Beach is a long, straight 6km stretch of sandy coastline which is perfect for watersports also there are new hotels, resorts, condominiums, shops and restaurants. Its much more peaceful and laidback than Pattaya Beach.

North Pattaya Road, marks the end of Pattaya Bay and the start of the area known as Naklua. If you pass the distinctive dolphin roundabout you are heading in the right direction.

Wong Amat Beach has a  1 km stretch of beach on the northern side of Pattaya Bay and is a quiet,  beach that is ideal for swimming and relaxation. There are no shops or vendors, so remember to take a picnic basket along. Although it is somewhat difficult to find - unless you are staying in one of the fine high-rise hotels or condominiums in the area - it's worth the effort for the exclusivity and peacefulness.

Off Pattaya there are two small island groups, the "Near Islands" (Ko Sak, Ko Krok) located close to the northern shores of Pattaya, very near Ko Larn ( Known as Coral Island ), and the "Far Islands" (Ko Rin, Ko Man Wichai, Ko Hua Chang, and Ko Badan), located offshore directly west of Pattaya. These islands, especially the "Far Islands", are the primary scuba diving destinations in and around Pattaya.
